What we know on the surface about Supreme Leader Snoke is also limited. The identity of Supreme Leader Snoke, in particular, is so secretive that even the actor playing Snoke, Andy Serkis, was not permitted to see the finished character. In almost every aspect, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been a heavily guarded film. Yet, in Star Wars: Rebels we have the main cast traveling to Malachor, a site integral to KOTOR II and the PC of that game.Andy Serkis, Supreme Leader Snoke, in the CGI motion-capture outfit. The third big issue I've seen people have is with KOTOR not being Canon anymore. In this universe, no one has ever mentioned Exar Kun, and even in the EU, not too many people would be able to tell you who he is. It is very much a newly-introduced character,". The exact quote is "he’s a new character in this universe. However, a lot of people have been mentioning Andy Serkis' quote about Snoke. But, this theory seemed to fit a little too nicely for me to just keep it to myself.Įdit: It seems I was completely wrong about the Knights of Ren being Sith, and I'm sorry I didn't do more research into that. Now he's assumed the mantle of Supreme Leader and gone out to make the galaxy great again. The only difference between then and now is that they lost, and he killed them all. There was an entire story dedicated to Luke's apprentices fighting off Exar Kun's spirit. Although they usually do this through Star Wars: Rebels, I wouldn't be surprised if they bring back such a strong Sith Lord to provide juxtaposition to the new and relatively inexperienced Ren. For, there wasn't always just two Sith, it was only after Darth Bane that the Rule of Two came into effect, so someone who's never heard the name Darth Bane, like Exar Kun, wouldn't give a damn, and would be perfectly fine starting an order of Sith.ĭisney has shown a strong urge to bring Legends material back into Canon. Now, either someone has forgotten their Canon, or they're incredibly well versed in it. Except there aren't just two, there are at least 4. That is, unless those apprentices were simply so far in the past, like Exar Kun's, who had 1 apprentice and 5 Sith acolytes, which we from Dooku's treatment of Ventress in TCW are basically apprentices, just less powerful. Now, it seems kind of odd that there hasn't been any material detailing who these apprentices are, or were. Snoke's wiki page says that he's had several apprentices "He had several apprentices before he became invested in the Skywalker bloodline,". This would further suggest he'd always been there, much like how Exar Kun's ghost is shown to have remained for millennia in the now Legends comics detailing his rise and fall from power. So, how exactly would Snoke find this angsty, dark side vulnerable boy? Well, the easiest way would be if he was already on Yavin IV, right under Luke's nose. ![]() I believe that Exar Kun and Supreme Leader Snoke are one and the same.īen was watched from an early age, which seems a little odd and hard to do considering he was hidden twice over, once with the rebel fleet, and then again when he went to Luke's new Jedi Temple. Now, anyone who's read the books, or played KOTOR, probably knows Yavin IV is the final resting place of Exar Kun, one of the strongest Sith Lords and the founder of the Brotherhood of the Sith. ![]() Skywalker's new Jedi Temple was on Yavin IV. ![]() So, I was having a conversation with my girlfriend, and she mentioned an interesting fact.

All a uniform 35.2 x 28.2cm, the drawings are densely worked so that the surface is incredibly compelling close up. His drawings are based on photographs of the robots – either ones taken by the scientists working with them, or his own snapshots. ![]() Existing somewhere between the human and the non-human, the robots have been created with attributes that give them character. Rather than fictionalised creations made for movies, or toys, Zummer’s robots are a compendium of our attempts to create functioning automata in our own image. The ten works are from a much larger series of portraits of robots. Circling the room from the left, the first group of works is by the American artist and philosopher Thomas Zummer. There are six artists in the Drawing Room show, some well-known, others who I confess are discoveries. It is a poetic, as well as an intellectually fertile set-up for the show. The story links drawing to the play of shadows, light and dark, as well as to the act of recording presence and absence. When he does not return from the war, grief-stricken, the young woman has only the image as solace. In the night, as he sleeps, she draws around the outline of his shadow on the wall. The story relates how a young woman’s lover comes to visit her before he departs for battle. In her essay about the show Kate Macfarlane cites the story of the origin of western art, as described by Pliny the Elder in Historia Naturalis, circa AD77. The straightforwardness of the proposition, however, belies the wonderful subtlety of the work that has been selected.Īt the heart of the show is the proposition that photography and drawing share an ‘indexical’ quality – that the photosensitive surface parallels the blank sheet of paper, that the play of light and dark, and the recording function of both link them intimately. This is in fact a collaborative project in partnership with The Photographers’ Gallery and examines the way some artists have combined the media, probing the limits of each one. Today I want to direct your attention away, across the river to Bermondsey and a superlative, concise little show at the Drawing Room. Tate’s Performing for the Camera and Painting with Light exhibitions examine the medium through the lens of an allied practice, while the V&A has Paul Strand and the Science Museum gives us Fox Talbot: Dawn of the Photograph. Photo London has landed at Somerset House for a second year and is a chance to see some extraordinary original prints from masters of the early years of the medium, as well as getting a handle on current tendencies. I will take it as read that you can find your way to the ‘big beasts’ of this week’s celebration of all things photography in London. In his 2011 speech, Obama talked about immigration and in 2012 he touted the military and government for killing al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, pointing out that Republican and Democratic leaders united in that effort. Past presidents had done late-night shows, but only as candidates, not after they took office.President Barack Obama delivering the 2015 State of the Union Address. The president's melding of policy and pop culture started early, when he promoted his economic stimulus plan to Jay Leno (remember him?) on NBC's "Tonight Show" in 2009. "But he spoke more to the heartland, whereas Obama's success was very coastal," says Dezenhall. Of course Trump, too, is in large part a product of pop culture, with decades of movie cameo credits as a billionaire businessman and a long run as the Richie-Rich "Apprentice" boss. People "got sick and tired of hearing that Islam is a peace-loving religion and that there's nobody braver than Kaitlyn Jenner." "A lot of Trump's supporters said, 'I'm tired of hearing about this,'" says Dezenhall. He paid a 2015 house call to comic Marc Maron's garage in California to talk terrorism, racial politics and gun control on Maron's "WTF" podcast.įor all the fascination with Obama's pop culture finesse, there was a downside.Įric Dezenhall, a Washington crisis management consultant and former Reagan administration official, contends that Donald Trump's election "can be traced almost solely to the domination of the popular culture that Obama and Obama-ism had." Obama's cultural identity was intertwined with a liberal agenda that was a turnoff to many voters. The president tossed a "Mad Men" reference into his 2014 State of the Union address - calling out wage disparities between men and women - and Twitter went wild. But within days, it had snagged 18 million views, on par with Justin Bieber. Some conservatives called that appearance undignified. ![]() "Have you heard of the Affordable Care Act?" "I think it's fair to say that I wouldn't be with you here today if I didn't have something to plug," Obama shot back. "OK, let's get this out of the way, what did you come here to plug?" Galifianakis groused. The president turned up on "Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis" to get millennials to sign up for his health care law. There he was in Alaska, warning about the dangers of climate change on "Running Wild with Bear Grylls." There she was on the "Tonight Show," pushing exercise by challenging Fallon to a sack race in the East Room. In an increasingly fragmented media world, the Obamas turned niche pop culture platforms to serious ends. Michelle Obama matched the president on-trend moment for on-trend moment: She strapped on a seatbelt for "Carpool Karaoke" with James Corden, beat Ellen DeGeneres in a push-ups contest and rapped with a turnip. "Obama out," he deadpanned, as he dropped his microphone and left the lectern. "I'm appreciably cooler than I was two minutes ago," Obama declared after taking the wheel of a 1963 Corvette Stingray with Seinfeld in 2015.Īnd, months before the end of his term, he delivered what could be his with-it farewell line as he ended his remarks at the correspondents' dinner by embracing a gesture popularized by rappers and comedians. His two terms played out like a running chronicle of the trends of our times: slow-jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon, reading mean tweets with Jimmy Kimmel, filling out his NCAA basketball bracket on ESPN, cruising with Jerry Seinfeld on "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee." From his campaign fist bump to his theatrical mic drop at the last White House correspondents' dinner, Barack Obama ruled as America's pop culture president. ![]() Although you can change the actual natural taste of your cannabis during the grow, most methods to try to actually alter the natural smell/taste after the grow don’t work well. What about other, more straightforward methods to flavor cannabis buds? Well there are two basic times to enhance the essence of your cannabis buds: before you harvest the cannabis or after you harvest the cannabis. They’re very professional, and at least for right now, they are probably as close as you can get to a “real store” for seeds in the US □ They’ve got everything from fuel to peach! I love Seed Supreme as a seed source because they carry strains by breeders who have already proven themselves. So that is the first step in flavoring weed – finding the right strain! If you go to a major seed bank they often have a way to find the taste/smell you want.įor example, Seed Supreme has a strain selector you can use, and in the filter under “category” you have the option to search for certain tastes/flavors like skunk or candy. Here’s a list of more “taste-famous” strains but there are tons and tons of them! Here is an example of a room full of Super Lemon Haze plantsīlue AutoMazar (by Dutch Passion) – Autoflowering strain, smells like blueberryĪ cross between two autoflowering strains from breeder Dutch Passion, this strain is as much about taste and smell as it is about potency! Doesn’t usually cause ‘couchlock’ so many people like this strain for daytime use. The potency is surprisingly strong, energetic and creative, perfect for daytime use. Smells lemony, and certain plants will end up smelling just like a Lemonhead with a mix of citrus, sour and sweet. Super Lemon Haze (by Greenhouse Seeds) – Sativa You will be able to start smelling the pineapple when the plant is still in the flowering stage, but the smell is most pronounced after the buds have been dried and cured. ![]() With Pineapple Chunk the buds actually smell sweet, and some really do smell and taste quite a bit like pineapple! Especially if you follow the growing instructions listed below, you’ll yield the best taste!Īlthough not the highest yielding, this strain produces buds that always get a surprising number of positive comments about the taste and smell, and the bud effects are very smooth. Pineapple Chunk (by Barneys Farm) – IndicaĪ lot of the time when someone says a strain smells or tastes like a fruit, they mean that you’ll get small hints of that smell in the undertones. It often takes some experimentation to get the desired result. For this reason, many who decide to grow these strains may be disappointed to find out their home-grown doesn’t taste exactly how they remember when they last tried that strain. Generally these strains have been bred to specifically be reminiscent of their namesake, but often need the right growing conditions in order to turn out as expected. Some cannabis strains you may have heard of include Super Lemon Haze, Strawberry Cough, Blueberry OG, Grapefruit, and probably different variations of lemon, grapefruit, sage, strawberry, blueberry, other berries, etc. In fact, growers have spent years breeding cannabis strains that produce a natural bouquet of scents and aroma that mimic other flavors. Most cannabis strains have some natural flavors on their own. Weed combined with chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cherry, root beer, and citrus flavors are relatively common flavors that have been experimented with. While I truly believe that the best marijuana flavor is achieved from a properly cured bud, the idea of occasionally ‘flavoring’ some marijuana or making flavored weed seems like a fun concept to experiment with. “How do I flavor weed?” is a common question by new growers. ![]() ![]() ![]() In other zombie news, there's an ARG going on right now in which gamers are trying to figure out some mysterious clues surrounding this year's Call of Duty: World War 2 zombie mode which you can read more about here.
